In August 2003, I quit my job to do volunteer work in Nepal for six months. In my opinion, there is more to life than just earning money for our own consumption and that we should do something for people who are less fortunate. My stay in Nepal made a huge impression and made me realize all the more how privileged we are in the Netherlands. With a relatively small budget I was able to really do something for the people there and on the other hand I also learned a lot from them. Since then I have carried the country and its people in my heart. Back in the Netherlands I wanted to continue to work for Nepal. The moment I came into contact with Jum and Henk, I immediately felt that the Kiran Fund suited me.
In my daily life I work at the Max Havelaar Foundation in Utrecht. I was sent to Australia on behalf of the Max Havelaar foundation.
